Unlike other dental procedures, cosmetic bonding is minimally invasive and can help you start smiling with confidence in as little as one appointment.
If you’ve ever felt self-conscious about your front teeth, schedule an appointment with our dental office intoday.
What is cosmetic bonding?
Our Plymouth MI teeth bonding dentist will first roughen the surface of your teeth before applying a conditioning liquid. This is done to help the composite resin stick to the surface of your teeth. Our dentist will then mold the composite resin to rebuild your tooth. Once our cosmetic dentist is satisfied with how the composite resin looks, he’ll use a special light or laser to harden the material and create a strong bond.
What’s the difference between bonding and veneers?
During the teeth bonding procedure, our cosmetic dentist doesn’t have to remove tooth structure unless you have a cavity. If we were to place porcelain veneers on your teeth, we would have to remove a thin layer of enamel from the fronts of your teeth. Dental bonding is less invasive than veneers but tends not to last as long.
How long does teeth bonding last?
How longlasts depends on your oral hygiene habits. We recommend not chewing ice cubes, hard candy, or other substances that can damage dental bonding. Also, be sure to continue scheduling oral examinations with our dentist office so we can monitor the condition of your teeth bonding.
